The International Institute for Peacebuilding in Active Conflict (IIPAC) is proud to announce the launch of a strategic international partnership with Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy and Rotary Club Cherkasy International. Over the next three years, the partners will advance research, education, applied peacebuilding, psychosocial support, and international cooperation to strengthen the resilience of Ukrainians living through war and help shape the future peace.
The collaboration also reflects one of the defining principles of IIPAC’s work: universities are not merely institutions of higher education. During war they can become centres of resilience, innovation, civic leadership and social recovery. Through this partnership, academics, students, practitioners, policymakers and community leaders from Ukraine and the international community will work together to generate new knowledge while developing practical solutions to the humanitarian, educational and social consequences of armed conflict.
Rotary Club Cherkasy International will strengthen the partnership by connecting academic work with community engagement, supporting international cooperation, and helping translate research into practical initiatives that benefit local communities.
This initiative extends beyond Ukraine. As one of IIPAC’s cornerstone international programmes, it will contribute to a growing body of evidence demonstrating how peacebuilding can be undertaken during active conflict. The lessons generated through this collaboration will inform international policy, research, education and practice, reinforcing IIPAC’s mission to transform the way peacebuilding is understood, taught and implemented.
